The Mission of Every Toastmasters Club

The mission of a Toastmasters club is to provide a mutually supportive and positive learning environment in which every member has the opportunity to develop communication and leadership skills, which in turn foster self-confidence and personal growth.

The Mission of the District

The mission of the District is to enhance the performance and extend the network of Clubs, thereby offering greater numbers of people the opportunity to benefit from the Toastmasters educational program by:

  • Focusing on the critical success factors as specified by the District educational and membership goals.
  • Insuring that each Club effectively fulfills its responsibilities to its members.
  • Providing effective training and leadership opportunities for Club and District Officers.

Leadership Training -- Makeup Sessions

Summer Leadership Institute has already been successfully completed, but if you missed officer training, don't worry! Makeup sessions are coming soon! Our goal as Toastmasters is to achieve 100% training, but at least four officers from each Club to be fully trained in their role for the coming Toastmasters term of office.

  • Central Division: July 19, 2008, 2 PM to 4 PM, Fairfield Library (1001 N Laburnum Ave, Richmond VA)

Area Governor & Division Governor Training

Area Governor and Division Governor training was held Saturday, June 14th at the Twin Hickory Library and was extremely well attended. A variety of experienced speakers led the way to training the newest batch of up and coming District 66 leaders. Topics ranging from the Distinguished Club Program to successful team building to supporting and mentoring Toastmaster Clubs to achieve ever-greater success for their members.

All assembled were excited about their roles in the coming year and are anxious to get out in the field to help benefit all the Clubs of the District.
